Susan G. Komen® MORE THAN PINK Walk raises funds for health equity among those most affected by breast cancer

ATLANTE, August 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, will host an in-person MORE THAN PINK walk to raise vital funds that support breast cancer patients and health equity programs, including Stand for HER by Susan G. Komen – A Health Equity Revolution – a targeted initiative to reduce breast cancer disparities in the black community. The March will take place on September 24, 2022at Lenox Square.

“We look forward to building a community for those affected by breast cancer as we come together in person for this year’s walk. Funds raised through the MORE THAN PINK walk will allow Komen to meet the needs of patients and to advance our health equity efforts to remove barriers to quality, timely care that create poor breast health outcomes,” said Dr. Jamar Jeffersstate executive director at Susan G. Komen.

  • Hosting of the opening ceremonies by the Pink Nation Breast Cancer Survivors Choir and the Stayin’ Alive Crew: an energetic dance crew over 50 years old

Atlanta residents can continue to support those affected by breast cancer in October through events and partnerships in the area: A portion of the proceeds from the Atlanta Falcons vs Cleveland Browns game on Sunday, October 2, 2022will go to Komen’s Stand For HER initiative to improve breast health equity for black women in the metro Atlanta. In addition, Cirque du Soleil will present A Night at Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities, the Thursday, October 13, 2022under the Atlantic Station marquee, with proceeds going to Susan G. Komen.
