CUNA’s monthly credit union estimates for August show an increase in members’ savings balances and outstanding loans.

Credit union loan balances increased 1.0% in August, compared with an increase of 0.8% in July 2021 and an increase of 0.3% in August 2020. The total number of credit union memberships rose 0.2% in August to 130.2 million.
