TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe city government of Bogor in West Java has increased the fare of the city’s public minibus or angkot Rp 1,000 for students and Rp 1,500 for public passengers due to increased Fuel prices.

The head of the Bogor Transport Agency, Eko Prabowo, said the new fare was agreed at Rp 4,000 for students and Rp 5,000 for general passengers. “It is in response to rising fuel prices. The angkot tariff is also increasing to adjust it,” he said.

Eko also said that the fare increase is referred to Bogor Mayor’s Decree No. 551.2/KEP.280-DISHUB/2022 regarding the fare for public transport services in the city of Bogor.

It is also thanks to a technical study of vehicle operating costs (BOK) and others that public transport can continue to operate despite rising fuel prices. The Transportation Authority will also send a letter of appeal to Angkot drivers and contractors to comply with the tariff provisions.

Eko pointed out that if anyone finds an Angkot driver charging more than the set fare, he can report it to the Bogor Transport Agency. “Don’t forget to take a picture of the vehicle’s license plate,” he added.

On Saturday September 3, 2022, President Jokowi announced the increase in Fuel prices which he considered the last resort. To minimize the impact, the government has prepared cash assistance totaling Rs. 24.17 trillion.
