The Port of Stockton has an opening for a Marine Accounts and Tariffs Officer who will be a catalyst for transformation in a thriving global industry. The ideal candidate should have experience in all aspects of intermodal transportation delivery models with the ability to lead and develop a diverse team of employees. An understanding of the marine industry is highly desirable. The ability to meet customer goals, anticipate expectations and increase sales efficiency will be key to success in this role. The holder must be connected to the “Voice of the customer”. The position will be responsible for ensuring that prices and service offerings meet customer needs while aligning with the business requirements of the port; provide optimal customer service through collaboration with internal stakeholders and perform competitive analysis within the industry. The Marine and Accounting Director will also oversee and manage the marine invoicing, rail invoicing and complaints processes; maintaining tariffs; and the work of assigned department staff to ensure a high level of accuracy and customer satisfaction.
Conditions: Equivalent to graduating from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, international trade, logistics, economics, marketing, finance or a closely related field and at least four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience involving operations, logistics, transportation, warehousing and distribution and / or supply chain management. At least two (2) years of experience must have been at the supervisory and / or managerial level or above direct reporting supervision. Experience in the maritime field is appreciated. Experience in a public agency is a plus.
